Happy to have him back. I hope they can sign another center for the 2nd line and have Koivu center the 3rd. They need someone to center a 2nd line with Bobby and Etem, and Getz and Perry with Devo on the 1st.
But we'll get the same old lineup again. Koivu and Teemu on the 2nd line getting schooled every night. I hope I'm wrong. |

Have a little faith. Good things are going to happen. Just watch.

No on jokinen. I would rather see them pick up konopka and resign parros for the forth. Then the ducks biggest free agents would be on defense. That's what the team really needs.

for the right price joker isnt all that bad... probably put up 50-60 points. |

What do we do with Nick Bonino? He played pretty well last year. Besides, I'd rather Murray spend cash on the defensive side. |

I would wait on a second line center until maybe a trade during next season. Bonino and holland must be given a shot/showcased for a trade. Bonino showed some promise so we might as well give him a shot before getting someone else. To get a second line center this offseason, we would have to give up a lot. Because of that I would rather wait and see what unfolds. Defense is way more important anyway. |

Sign him immediately. The dsp-bonino-ryan showed a lot of promise when put together. |

I like it, but I think Emerson Etem will make the team. |

I don't necessary think he wont. Starting the season in the AHL wouldn't be the worst thing in the world though.

No point in being negative. The future looks bright for the organization. I prefer to just enjoy the ride. |

I agree. Quite a few major pieces had career worst years (Getzlaf, Visnovski, Lydman). If they can have average years next year, Anaheim will challenge for a playoff spot.
I've been hesitant to post this because I didn't hear it through the normal personnel I usually hear Ducks info from but apparently Samueli has given the OK to open the purse strings a little more and make a run at Ryan Suter. Possibly 5 years/$40 million. He would be the highest paid Duck ever but that STILL might not be enough to get him. He heard rumors that Detroit is willing to do at least that and Toronto might go near $10 million per. This all depends on what happens with the NHLPA negotiations but the league is going to rake in a ton of extra cash from NBC because they've already surpassed the ratings numbers in the playoffs plus the owners not only won't have to prop up Phoenix but they will be getting $$$ from the sale. Win-Win.
I was hesitant to say any of this until I heard that Saku got $3 million + bonuses! Anybody else think that's about a million or so high considering his numbers last season. Maybe the team to the north of Anaheim's playoff success is causing a re-thinking of the Ducks management strategy. Just a guess but it makes sense to me. |
